Work of adhesion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012716
The reversible work required to separate an interface between two immiscible phases, such as a liquid and a solid, into two free surfaces. It quantifies the strength of the adhesive forces between the two phases. This value is calculated from the surface tensions of the individual phases and their interfacial tension.
