Adhesion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012843
The phenomenon where dissimilar surfaces or substances cling together due to intermolecular forces at their interface. This can involve physical interlocking, chemical bonding, or electrostatic attraction between the two materials. The strength of adhesion is quantified by the force required to separate the bonded surfaces, often measured in pascals (Pa) or newtons per meter (N/m).
