Bond

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001413

A lasting attraction between atoms, ions, or molecules that enables the formation of chemical compounds. This attraction results from the electrostatic forces between oppositely charged ions or the sharing of electrons between atoms. Chemical bonds are responsible for the structure and properties of all matter.
