Chemical bond
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001938
A lasting attraction between atoms, ions, or molecules that enables the formation of chemical compounds. These bonds arise from the electrostatic forces between oppositely charged ions or between electrons and nuclei. The strength of a chemical bond is typically measured in kilojoules per mole (kJ/mol).
