Bond energy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001415
The average enthalpy change required to break a specific type of bond in one mole of gaseous molecules. This value represents the strength of a chemical bond. Bond energies are positive values, as energy must be supplied to break a bond, and are typically expressed in kilojoules per mole (kJ/mol).
