Polymer complexation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009163
The reversible association of two or more polymer chains, or a polymer chain with smaller molecules or ions, through non-covalent interactions such as hydrogen bonding, electrostatic forces, or hydrophobic interactions. This process leads to the formation of a polymer complex with distinct properties from the individual components. The stability of these complexes depends on factors like pH, temperature, and ionic strength.
