Dimerization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003226
A chemical process in which two identical molecular entities combine to form a single, larger molecular entity called a dimer. This association can occur through covalent bonds or non-covalent interactions, such as hydrogen bonding or van der Waals forces. The dimerization of carboxylic acids in solution is a common example of non-covalent association.
