Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005054
A molecule or ion that is bound within the cavity of a larger host molecule, forming a host-guest complex. The interaction between the guest and host is typically non-covalent, involving forces such as hydrogen bonding, van der Waals forces, or electrostatic interactions. This concept is central to supramolecular chemistry.
