Molecular encapsulation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007488
The process of enclosing a guest molecule within a host molecule or a molecular assembly, forming a stable complex. This typically involves non-covalent interactions, such as hydrogen bonding, van der Waals forces, or hydrophobic effects. Cyclodextrins are a common class of host molecules used for molecular encapsulation.
