Carceplex
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001661
A host-guest complex where a guest molecule is completely encapsulated within the cavity of a carcerand host molecule. The guest is trapped inside the host, unable to escape without breaking covalent bonds of the host. These complexes are characterized by extremely high binding affinities and kinetic stability.
