Hemicarceplex
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005186
A host-guest complex in which a hemicarcerand has entrapped a guest molecule inside its closed cavity. The shell has portals wide enough for the guest to leave without breaking any covalent bond, usually only when heated, whereas the guest of a carceplex stays locked in permanently.
