Inclusion compound

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005761

A host-guest complex where one component (the guest molecule) is trapped within the molecular framework or lattice of another component (the host molecule) without forming covalent bonds. The guest molecule is physically enclosed within the host's cavity or channels. Cyclodextrins and zeolites are common examples of host molecules forming inclusion compounds.
