Association
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000843
The process by which molecules or ions combine to form larger aggregates, often through non-covalent interactions such as hydrogen bonding, van der Waals forces, or electrostatic attractions. This can lead to the formation of dimers, trimers, or more complex supramolecular structures. The extent of association is quantified by an association constant.
