Colligation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002212
The formation of a covalent bond through the combination of two radicals, where each radical species contributes one electron to the new shared pair. This process is the reverse of homolysis, which involves the cleavage of a bond into two radical fragments. The molecularity of a colligation reaction involving two radicals is two.
