Immiscibility
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005622
The inability of two or more substances, such as polymers, to mix or dissolve completely in each other to form a single homogeneous phase. This phenomenon arises from unfavorable thermodynamic interactions between the components. In polymer blends, immiscibility often leads to phase separation and the formation of distinct morphological domains.
