Fluorophobic interaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004534
A specific type of non-covalent interaction characterized by a repulsive force between a chemical species and a highly fluorinated molecular segment or fluorous compound. This interaction drives the separation of non-fluorinated components from fluorous phases. It is the driving force behind the immiscibility observed between fluorous and non-fluorous solvents.
