Fluorophilic
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004531
Describing a chemical species or a part of a molecule that exhibits a strong affinity for fluorous phases or fluorinated compounds. This property arises from specific intermolecular interactions, such as London dispersion forces, between highly fluorinated segments. Fluorophilic interactions are exploited in fluorous biphasic catalysis and separations.
