Solvophilic

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011037

Describing a substance or a part of a molecule that has an affinity for a particular solvent. This affinity results in favorable interactions, such as hydrogen bonding or van der Waals forces, leading to good solubility or dispersion in that solvent. For example, a hydrophilic group is solvophilic in water.
