Solvophobic
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011038
Describing a substance or a part of a molecule that repels or has a low affinity for a particular solvent. This lack of affinity leads to unfavorable interactions, causing the substance to be poorly soluble or to aggregate in that solvent. For instance, a hydrophobic group is solvophobic in water.
