Affinity of reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000319
A thermodynamic measure of the driving force for a chemical reaction to proceed spontaneously, defined as the negative of the Gibbs energy of reaction at constant temperature and pressure. It quantifies the maximum useful work that can be obtained from a reaction. A positive affinity indicates a spontaneous reaction.
