Gibbs energy of transfer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004879
The change in Gibbs energy when one mole of a solute is transferred from one solvent to another at constant temperature and pressure. This thermodynamic quantity reflects the difference in solvation energies of the solute in the two solvents. It is a measure of the relative affinity of a solute for different solvents and is expressed in joules per mole.
