Transfer activity coefficient
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012209
A thermodynamic quantity that describes the difference in the standard chemical potential of a solute between two immiscible phases, typically two solvents. It quantifies the relative preference of a solute for one phase over another due to specific interactions. This coefficient is related to the partition coefficient and is used in understanding solvent extraction and phase transfer processes.
