Coefficient

A numerical or constant factor that multiplies a variable in an algebraic expression or a term in a mathematical equation. It quantifies the extent of a particular property or effect. For example, in chemistry, a stoichiometric coefficient indicates the number of moles of a reactant or product in a balanced chemical equation.
