Rate of reaction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009945

The change in the concentration of a reactant or product per unit time, adjusted for the stoichiometric coefficients of the balanced chemical equation. It quantifies the speed at which a chemical transformation occurs. For a general reaction, it is typically expressed in units of mol L⁻¹ s⁻¹.
