Rate of formation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013475

The rate at which a product appears in a chemical reaction, expressed as the positive change in its concentration over time. This rate is directly related to the stoichiometry of the reaction and the rate of consumption of the reactants. For a product B, the rate of formation is commonly measured in units such as mol L-1 s-1.
