Rate
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009932
The change in the value of a quantity per unit of time. This fundamental concept describes how quickly a process occurs or how rapidly a substance is consumed or produced. In chemical kinetics, reaction rates are typically expressed in units of concentration per unit time, such as moles per liter per second (mol L⁻¹ s⁻¹).
