Elementary reaction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003806

A chemical reaction that occurs in a single step, exactly as written, without any intermediate steps or transition states other than the one explicitly shown. The molecularity of an elementary reaction is equal to its stoichiometric coefficients. Its rate law can be directly determined from the stoichiometry of the reactants.
