Stepwise reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011362
A chemical reaction that proceeds through a series of elementary steps, each involving one or more intermediate species. The overall reaction mechanism is a sequence of these individual steps, rather than a single concerted event. Each elementary step has its own rate constant and molecularity.
