Stepwise technique
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011363
A method in thermal analysis where a sample is heated or cooled in a series of discrete steps, with isothermal holds between each step. This allows for the observation of kinetic processes or phase transitions that occur over a narrow temperature range. The technique provides more detailed information than continuous heating or cooling methods.
