Backward stepwise linear discriminant analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001092
A statistical method for classifying observations into predefined groups by iteratively removing variables from a full model. It begins with all potential predictor variables and, at each step, eliminates the variable that contributes least to the discrimination between groups. This process continues until no further variable removal significantly degrades the model's performance, resulting in a more parsimonious model.
