Principal component-discriminant analysis

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009468

A chemometric technique that combines principal component analysis with discriminant analysis to classify samples. First, principal component analysis reduces the dimensionality of the data while retaining most of the variance. Then, discriminant analysis is applied to the principal components to find linear combinations that best separate predefined groups of samples.
