Composite mechanism
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002331
A reaction mechanism that consists of a combination of elementary reactions, where the overall stoichiometry is the sum of the stoichiometries of the individual steps. This type of mechanism describes how reactants are converted into products through a series of molecular transformations. The rate law for a composite mechanism is derived from the rates of its elementary steps.
