Composite
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002329
A material formed from two or more constituent materials with significantly different physical or chemical properties that remain separate and distinct at the macroscopic or microscopic level within the finished structure. These materials are designed to achieve properties superior to those of the individual components. Examples include fiber-reinforced polymers and metal matrix composites.
