Chemical relaxation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001961
The process by which a chemical system, perturbed from its equilibrium state, returns to a new equilibrium. This return is characterized by a time constant known as the relaxation time. Relaxation methods are used to study the kinetics of very fast reactions, often on the microsecond to nanosecond timescale.
