Temperature jump
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011853
A relaxation technique used to study fast chemical reactions by rapidly altering the temperature of a system. This sudden change perturbs the equilibrium of a reaction, and the subsequent return to a new equilibrium is monitored spectroscopically. The temperature change is typically achieved by discharging a capacitor through a conductive solution or by pulsed laser heating.
