X-ray jump ratio
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012761
The ratio of the X-ray absorption coefficient immediately after an absorption edge to the absorption coefficient immediately before the edge. This ratio quantifies the magnitude of the absorption discontinuity at a specific elemental absorption edge. It is a characteristic value for each element and is used in quantitative X-ray absorption spectroscopy to determine elemental concentrations.
