X-ray level
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012762
An energy level within an atom corresponding to the binding energy of an electron in a specific inner shell, such as K, L, or M shells. These levels are characterized by quantum numbers, and transitions between them involve the emission or absorption of X-ray photons. The energy of an X-ray level is unique to each element and its electronic configuration.
