Nuclear level

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008104

A discrete energy state that an atomic nucleus can occupy. These levels are analogous to the electronic energy levels in atoms but involve the arrangement and interactions of protons and neutrons within the nucleus. Transitions between nuclear levels result in the emission or absorption of gamma rays.
