Nuclear particle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008112
A subatomic particle that resides within the atomic nucleus, primarily protons and neutrons. These particles are bound together by the strong nuclear force, forming the core of an atom. The number of protons defines the element, while the sum of protons and neutrons determines the mass number of an isotope.
