Nuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008111
A two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiment that detects through-space correlations between nuclear spins. It relies on the nuclear Overhauser effect, where the saturation of one spin's signal leads to an intensity change in another spin's signal if they are spatially close. This technique is widely used for determining the three-dimensional structure of molecules, particularly proteins and nucleic acids, in solution.
