Exchange spectroscopy

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004171

A two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiment designed to detect chemical or conformational exchange processes between different molecular sites. It involves a mixing period during which magnetization can be transferred between nuclei that are undergoing exchange. The presence of cross-peaks in the 2D spectrum indicates that nuclei are exchanging between distinct environments.
