t₂

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011789

The time interval in a two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy experiment during which the free induction decay is acquired. This period follows the mixing time and is the second of two time domains that are varied independently to generate the 2D spectrum. The Fourier transform of the signal with respect to t₂ yields one of the frequency axes of the final spectrum.
