Imaginary NMR spectrum
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005596
The part of a complex nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum that is 90 degrees out of phase with the radiofrequency field of the spectrometer. After a Fourier transform of the free induction decay signal, the resulting spectrum has both a real and an imaginary component. The imaginary part displays absorption-mode peaks as dispersion-shaped signals, which are mathematically corrected during data processing to produce the final absorptive spectrum.
