Real spectrum
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009994
The real part of the complex frequency-domain data produced by Fourier transformation of a time-domain signal, as in NMR spectroscopy. It is one of two equal blocks of data, the other being the imaginary spectrum, which is 90 degrees out of phase with it. After phase correction the real spectrum shows peaks in pure absorption mode, so it is usually the only part displayed.
