Real potential of a species in a phase
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009993
The total energy required to bring a charged species from a vacuum to a specific phase, accounting for both electrical and non-electrical interactions. It represents the work done against all forces, including image forces and chemical interactions. This potential is distinct from the electrochemical potential, which includes the electrical potential of the phase itself.
