Electrochemical potential
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003661
A thermodynamic quantity that represents the total potential energy of a species in an electrochemical system, including both its chemical potential and its electrical potential energy. It determines the direction of spontaneous movement of charged species in an electric field and concentration gradient. It is expressed in joules per mole (J/mol).
