Electrochemical method of detection

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003659

A class of analytical techniques used to detect and quantify a chemical species by measuring an electrical signal generated by an electrochemical reaction involving the analyte. The analyte participates in an oxidation or reduction reaction at an electrode surface, producing a measurable change in potential, current, or charge. Specific methods include amperometry, coulometry, and potentiometry.
