Amperometry
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000514
An electrochemical analytical technique where the current flowing through an electrochemical cell is measured as a function of time, while the potential applied to the working electrode is held constant. This current is directly proportional to the concentration of the electroactive species undergoing oxidation or reduction at the electrode surface. It is widely used in sensors for detecting specific analytes, such as glucose in blood.
