Working potential range

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012723

The span of electrical potential over which an electrochemical cell or electrode can operate without undergoing undesirable side reactions or solvent decomposition. It is bounded by the oxidation and reduction limits of the electrolyte or electrode material. This range dictates the feasible electrochemical processes that can be studied or performed.
