Coulometric detection method

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002627

An analytical technique that measures the amount of analyte by quantifying the total charge (coulombs) required to completely convert the analyte to a different oxidation state. This method relies on Faraday's laws of electrolysis, where the amount of substance reacted is directly proportional to the charge passed. It is often used for highly accurate determinations of small quantities of substances.
